Tasty, healthy meals in 15 minutes. That’s the premise of Jamie Oliver’s new cook book. Can you do it?
On your Mark… make sure you have all the gear to cut short (literally) preparation time. Luckily Jamie’s list is pretty much standard – a food processor, liquidizer, and a kettle are the must have essentials.
Get Set… the essential part of Jamie’s fast cooking methodology is organization -be on your mark with everything out and ready to go. Sauce tops loosened veggies on deck and kettle on the boil. The other key to a quick finish line is to read and digest the steps in the recipe before you start – do this and you will keep up with Jamie’s jaunty pace.
Go…with tea towel slung over your shoulder trust in the master that everything will turn out in the end and just cook in a multi-tasking manner.
The book is well designed and very accessible. The sections are sensibly grouped with hero ingredients and the pages are laid out with clear steps that help you focus on the preparation and the lively pace of throwing it altogether. The photography styling deserves a specially mention – the camera hovers over the food that is artfully piled on rustic planks of wood teamed with flea market china. Lovely jubbly this, innit?
