Brooks a finalist for US Indie Champion Award

Geraldine Brooks, Australian-American author of March (Winner of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize), Caleb’s Crossing and People of the Book is a finalist in the 2013 US Indie Champion Award. 

The award, formerly called the ‘Most Engaging Author Award’ is organised by the US Indies Choice Book Awards and is presented to “the author or illustrator who booksellers feel has the best sense of the importance of independent bookstores to their communities at large and the strongest personal commitment to foster and support the mission and passion of independent booksellers”

Other authors vying for the Award include, John Green (his novel, The Fault in Our Stars is entered for Book of the Year – Young Adult) , Tom Angleberger, John Scieszka (The True Story of the Three Little Pigs is in the running for The Picture book Hall of Fame), Jonathan Evision and Terry Tempest Williams.
