Child wins CWA Diamond Dagger Award
One of the world’s leading thriller writers Lee Child, has been awarded the annual Crime Writers Association (CWA) Diamond Dagger award for 2013. The best selling author was hand picked by his peers of the CWA for his careeer ‘marked by sustained excellence’, and his ‘contribution to crime fiction’.
Child has sold over 60 million copies of his seventeen ‘Jack Reacher’ thrillers worldwide, including hist latest in the series, A Wanted Man,as well as One Shot which has been developed into box office hit written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and staring Hollywood heavy-weight Tom Cruise.
“I am delighted that the CWA has chosen Lee Child as this year’s recipient” said CWA chair Peter James. “Lee is one of the few British crime thriller authors to have become a global brand name; he is also an extremely charming and open person and a tireless promoter of our genre”.
Child is said to recieve the diamond studded dagger at the CWA’s special Diamond Jubilee conference later this year.
