Ever tried talking about yourself? Not the easiest thing, is it? Having to do it every semester, in every class, will make you pretty good at it. Here is my standard tutorial introduction: Hi, my name’s Inez, I’m doing a BIGS (Bachelor of International & Global Studies) degree, and I’m in my third year.
You also always have to state something weird or personal or something you like, and mine is: I like to travel. Yeah… so I haven’t left the country in four years. The truth is, I’m not so good with ‘fun facts’, and travel is my go-to fun fact scapegoat. That said, last semester I came up with a new one: I like sports. Also not entirely true…I go to the gym, but that’s about it. So here are a few (true) facts about me:
- I’m majoring in International Business and Government & International Relations
- I don’t like waking up early, and avoid 9am classes like the plague
- I have an obsession with the Burt’s Bees lip balms
- I would love to have the same diet as the Cookie Monster (before they made him go all healthy, seriously what’s up with that?)
I’m also the new CCA (Co-op Campus Ambassador) for Sydney Uni, so I’ll be posting on The Co-op University of Sydney Facebook page and Twitter account (@coopusyd), as well as updating this blog every week.
The point of this blog is to help uni students get acclimatised to the craziness that is university, and for older students, a little light-hearted amusement. There’ll be some general life skills (like how to cook something other than spaghetti on toast) and other fun topics to follow. The next blog will be about what the transition from high school to uni is really like, and why the worst is… already over.
That’s all you really need to know about me… Any questions? Want to suggest a topic? Sound off in the comments on one of my posts (click here for them)!
