The Reading Hour
Tomorrow, August 24, marks the second Reading Hour to take place nationally. From 5-6pm, the Love2Read initiative promotes the idea that everyone can benefit form reading at least 10 minutes a day. So like Earth Hour, Reading Hour is an opportunity to curl up with your favourite book, or share a story with family and friends for (at least) one hour.
The Love2Read organisation have a whole host of events happing around the nation. Reading Hour will be kickstarted at Federation Square in Melbourne, with ambassador Tim Ferguson reading from the engaging children’s book, Cowzat! There will also be library events and dress-ups, so check the Reading Hour Website to see what’s happening near you.
So enjoy the national Reading Hour tomorrow night: Pick a good book (or two, nothing saying you can’t read for more than an hour!!) and tell us in the comments what you chose to read!
