Every year, the 13th of September is dedicated to one of the world’s most famous and imaginative childrens’ writer, Roald Dahl.
Born in Wales, 13th September 1916, Dahl was a pilot in WWII, a family man, and an incredible novelist of ingenious children’s novels, featuring some of the most beloved characters of a generation – Magical Matilda, Sophie, Charlie Bucket, mischievous George, evil witches and the wily Mr Fox.
Roald Dahl Day 2012 pays homage to 30 years of the gloriumtious BFG, Dahl’s favourite character a friendly Giant who bottles dreams, uses a fantastical array of made up words, defeats the evil giants and saves the Queen of England! The BFG is one of Dahl’s most magical, funny and heart-warming children’s story, perfect for ages 6 and up.

Dahl passed away in 1990, but not without leaving a legacy of stories that have been enjoyed by generations.
