The first YA novel from Karen Mahoney, and unlike many YA this one is really just for the YA market and not a genre crosser like Stephanie Meyers Twilight. Reasonably well written, it brings a mix of traditional folklore and paranormal (I almost sighed with relief when the scars on Xan’s back weren’t a result of him being a fallen angel) into an easy read for the 12+ age group. It is defiantly one for the girls more than the boys the ending is set up for a continuation of the adventures of Donna, Xan, Navin and Maker …
