The Paper Book Pitch

I missed the Gruen Planet this week, but I did catch up on The Pitch on their website, and I’m glad I did.

This week the client was The National Book Council, and the brief was ‘A campaign to convince us to abandon our e-book readers and only read books made of paper’. The pitches were from Darren Ralph at thinkbone and Mike Preston from Enigma.

My pick is the pitch from thinkbone. I love the tag they’ve come up with: “Powered only by your imagination”.

Reading, for me, isn’t just about what the author has written, it’s about how I visualise the world they’ve created, the characters and the setting, as I read – how I imagine it.
