Environment Award for Children’s Literature Shortlist

The Wilderness Society  announced their shortlist for the 2013 Environment Award for Children’s Literature.

Nominated books can be either fiction or non-fiction, and must demonstrate ‘caring for the natural environment’ by highlighting an environmental issue or creating ‘a sense of awe and wonder for the natural world’ to be eligible for the award.

The shortlisted books in the Preschool category are:


The shortlisted books in the Primary category are:

  • Ten Tiny Things by Meg McKinlay & Kyle Hughes-Odgers
  • Tanglewood by Margaret Wild & Vivienne Goodman
  • Bizi the Musk Duck of Barren Box Swamp by Ann-Maree Thompson



The winners for each category will be announced at a ceremony on June 5th 2013 – World Environment Day.
